3 Ways To Use Coconut Oil

When I was a little girl, I remember watching my grandpa sitting at the corner of the kitchen table either asleep (snoring) or wearing his reading glasses with a herbal medical book at hand. He has always so been so fascinated in finding natural ways to help cure something like a headache or an upset stomach, which by the way was typically me with an issue! It’s definitely a quality that I can say I learned from him. Ever since I can remember I have always looked for natural ways to do things, because we always need a backup plan, right? So today, I wanted to share with you three simple ways you can use one simple ingredient, coconut oil.

Nothing’s worse than feeling like you have dry skin but can’t seem to figure out what the issue is with your body/hand lotion. This is a pet peeve of mine. I hate feeling like my skin is the Mojave Desert. Coconut oil will definitely help you in this department! It’s an excellent moisturizer, not only for your hands, face but elbows too. It also doesn’t leave a sticky or oily finish to the skin and is practically scent free.

As a regular hair salon visitor, keeping my hair healthy is extremely important to me. I need it to handle the daily distress I put it through. So, once a week I like to do a coconut oil hair mask right before I jump in the shower. I cover my hair from root to end and let it sit for 45 minutes, then wash. My hair feels so soft after and I honestly don't even feel the need to use conditioner.

If you’re an avid shaver, this can seriously be a game changer for you, especially if you suddenly run out of shaving gel and dread the idea of living without it. Apply coconut oil on the area you intending to shave and voila, a close smooth effortless shave!
