California weather can be so unpredictable. So many people talk about how California has great weather and I honestly wonder to myself, how? Don’t get me wrong, I love it here and Cali’s weird quirks, but the one thing I wish it had was a very cold winter where we could wear jackets and fur coats. I almost feel like you need two different outfits to get through a day out here. It’s cold in the morning but then hot in the afternoon, and I slowly find myself unlayering throughout the day. I guess you can't have it all in the Golden State.
Plaid, is one of those amazing prints that never go out of style. A great investment piece that is very transitional from day to night wear and for any occasion. I am sure that some of you, if not all, have seen the infamous plaid blazer posted all over the internet, which is sold out in stores. Today I wanted to show you all a different way to style something plaid, slacks. As you can see I paired mine with a black one shoulder top, that ties around the waist at the back. I purchased these slacks because of the adorable bow on the side of the hip, it cinched me in and creates the illusion of a smaller waist. They also have an elastic band, which is a favorite feature of mine, that I see more brands have been doing lately, and I hope it continues. As a curvy petite girl it is always annoying to find pants that pop open at the back and show a little bit more than you want, so fortunately this top it somewhat covers me but won’t suffocate me once the sun peeks out. To finish off the outfit is a small kitty heel that still says I am dressed and ready for anything you throw at me while still feeling comfortable. I honestly never saw myself wearing kitty heels and I definitely don’t find them very sexy but I can say I found a new best friend. As for my accessories, I kept it simple, with silver dainty hoops and a barrette to embrace my inner parisian.
I hope you find your own piece that not only suits you but fits your environment, no matter where you live.
