It’s happened to all of us. We make plans for ourselves the night before, to wake up and finish your errands/tasks but then find yourself fighting the idea to get out of bed. Before you know it, you open and close your eyes, only to find out it’s so late.

Wondering what this spring 2018 season has in store for us? Well believe it or not, think bold, monochromatic and color block prints. Playful but still strong, confident and beautiful. So say goodbye to the neutrals that once filled our closets and say hello to the statement pieces that will give you that cool girl edge.

Like most, I’m not an expert on just one topic. I love and have always had an interest in many subjects. I think that’s why I always found it difficult to pick just one career path, to pursue. What can I say I like them all equally. Ugh, the struggle.

Just as much as I love being dressed up, I love the idea of walking through an empty field filled with poppies and hearing the rumbling noise of animals in the background. It might seem corny but one of my favorite movies is The Wizard of Oz.

Let me start with saying that I am not a morning person. For me, waking up early is an everyday struggle. The worst part is that I typically have puffy eyes in morning. What can I say, it’s my everyday norm. So naturally, finding tools that will help me depuff in the morning and absorb my daily skincare is a tool I look forward to using. Sounds like a life saver! You may be thinking too good to be true? Well I thought the same thing when I came across this jade roller and like always I had to give it a try and share it with you. I am amazed! It’s a dual end tool made out of jade and did I mention it’s super affordable?
So for today’s post I decided to share with you a few ways on how to use this little gem.
This tool generally features a larger stone meant to be used for the cheeks, jaw and forehead areas on your face. The smaller stone is meant for under the eyes and around the mouth area. To use it, you apply a gentle amount of pressure while rolling the tool from the center of your face to an upward/outward motion. This exercise increases circulation. But if you’re looking for an extra boost, look no further! Place your roller in the freezer and take it out when needed. This helps smooth the skin, depuff and help reduce any redness.
As you can see I like to use mine while I hangout at home. It is so soft to the touch and relaxing. It feels like magic!

Winter Layering
Have you ever looked in your closet and thought to yourself grrrr, how do I pair this garment without looking like a fluffy marshmallow? Or the worst, you get ready, leave the house and somehow end up taking photos, but then realize you look like your drowning in a sea because you didn’t think to unlayer. In some cases layering is extremely essential to layer your life away but for others it’s no fun! Living in the sunshine state of California, we’re known for the great weather but to be honest I beg to differ. It sometimes feels more unpredictable than predictable.
Here are a few tips on how to layer.
My first tip is to start with your basics, leggings, and a cotton long sleeve or thermal are great starters. They’re essentially lightweight and allow you to layer on without adding too much bulk all at once.
Secondly, insulating your feet. Pairing your outfit with over the knee socks will not only keep you warm but add a bit of character. Even if you’re not intending to expose your socks, they’ll definitely keep you warm.
Third, layering another bottom over your outfit like a pair of shorts or even a skirt to add texture.
Fourth, a comfy knit sweater is always essential. It is always a good idea to keep a few knit’s in your closet for emergencies. They're great to layer over your basic tee.
Fifth, picking a cute pair of boots and even adding a great coat or blazer to tie it all together! If necessary add a cute scarf, to add some pizazz around your neck.
As you can see I created my own sporty look to fit the climate in California. I decided to layer my everyday hoodie from H&M with my nifty blazer from Zara. Along with my high rise mom jeans from Topshop and classic black heels from Zara. Lastly, pairing it all with my favorite handbag from Rebecca Minkoff.

Doucce’s Holiday Set
For many this might seem as a surprise, but once upon a time when I was a little girl, I was totally not a fan of makeup. I never understood it. I hated how long I’d take my mom to get ready. I remember watching her carefully applying her eyeshadow and then her lipstick, every morning.

One of my biggest pet peeves is being hungry and not having anything around to curb my appetite. If I’m running around and doing errands or going from work to the gym, it’s nice to have something light to get you through a few more hours. I am such a big foodie so I like to make sure I have a protein bar in my purse or gym bag, just in case.

When I was a little girl, I remember watching my grandpa sitting at the corner of the kitchen table either asleep (snoring) or wearing his reading glasses with a herbal medical book at hand. California weather can be so unpredictable. So many people talk about how California has great weather and I honestly wonder to myself, how? Don’t get me wrong, I love it here and Cali’s weird quirks, but the one thing I wish it had was a very cold winter where we could wear jackets and fur coats.
