It’s happened to all of us. We make plans for ourselves the night before, to wake up and finish your errands/tasks but then find yourself fighting the idea to get out of bed. Before you know it, you open and close your eyes, only to find out it’s so late.Read More
Wondering what this spring 2018 season has in store for us? Well believe it or not, think bold, monochromatic and color block prints. Playful but still strong, confident and beautiful. So say goodbye to the neutrals that once filled our closets and say hello to the statement pieces that will give you that cool girl edge.Read More
Like most, I’m not an expert on just one topic. I love and have always had an interest in many subjects. I think that’s why I always found it difficult to pick just one career path, to pursue. What can I say I like them all equally. Ugh, the struggle.Read More
If you haven’t already caught on, I am a true glam girl. I love everything that has to do with makeup. Feeling beautiful is really what you make of it, so trying new products to share with you is honestly a plus for me. You’re maybe asking, how so?Read More
Just as much as I love being dressed up, I love the idea of walking through an empty field filled with poppies and hearing the rumbling noise of animals in the background. It might seem corny but one of my favorite movies is The Wizard of Oz.Read More
Let me start with saying that I am not a morning person. For me, waking up early is an everyday struggle. The worst part is that I typically have puffy eyes in morning. What can I say, it’s my everyday norm. So naturally, finding tools that will help me depuff in the morning and absorb my daily skincare is a tool I look forward to using. Sounds like a life saver! You may be thinking too good to be true? Well I thought the same thing when I came across this jade roller and like always I had to give it a try and share it with you. I am amazed! It’s a dual end tool made out of jade and did I mention it’s super affordable?
So for today’s post I decided to share with you a few ways on how to use this little gem.
This tool generally features a larger stone meant to be used for the cheeks, jaw and forehead areas on your face. The smaller stone is meant for under the eyes and around the mouth area. To use it, you apply a gentle amount of pressure while rolling the tool from the center of your face to an upward/outward motion. This exercise increases circulation. But if you’re looking for an extra boost, look no further! Place your roller in the freezer and take it out when needed. This helps smooth the skin, depuff and help reduce any redness.
As you can see I like to use mine while I hangout at home. It is so soft to the touch and relaxing. It feels like magic!
What is your go to beauty tool?
Have you ever looked in your closet and thought to yourself grrrr, how do I pair this garment without looking like a fluffy marshmallow? Or the worst, you get ready, leave the house and somehow end up taking photos, but then realize you look like your drowning in a sea because you didn’t think to unlayer. In some cases layering is extremely essential to layer your life away but for others it’s no fun! Living in the sunshine state of California, we’re known for the great weather but to be honest I beg to differ. It sometimes feels more unpredictable than predictable.
Here are a few tips on how to layer.
My first tip is to start with your basics, leggings, and a cotton long sleeve or thermal are great starters. They’re essentially lightweight and allow you to layer on without adding too much bulk all at once.
Secondly, insulating your feet. Pairing your outfit with over the knee socks will not only keep you warm but add a bit of character. Even if you’re not intending to expose your socks, they’ll definitely keep you warm.
Third, layering another bottom over your outfit like a pair of shorts or even a skirt to add texture.
Fourth, a comfy knit sweater is always essential. It is always a good idea to keep a few knit’s in your closet for emergencies. They're great to layer over your basic tee.
Fifth, picking a cute pair of boots and even adding a great coat or blazer to tie it all together! If necessary add a cute scarf, to add some pizazz around your neck.
As you can see I created my own sporty look to fit the climate in California. I decided to layer my everyday hoodie from H&M with my nifty blazer from Zara. Along with my high rise mom jeans from Topshop and classic black heels from Zara. Lastly, pairing it all with my favorite handbag from Rebecca Minkoff.
What is your go to winter layering item?
For many this might seem as a surprise, but once upon a time when I was a little girl, I was totally not a fan of makeup. I never understood it. I hated how long I’d take my mom to get ready. I remember watching her carefully applying her eyeshadow and then her lipstick, every morning.Read More
Self confidence comes in many forms. From the way you dress, to the way you do your makeup and the way you carry yourself. I truly believe it all makes a difference. With the holiday parties coming up, finding the perfect outfits can be a struggle. Am I right?Read More
I’m a strong believer that whatever you put into your body it will show in your complexion. You will never meet someone who drinks frequently with little to no sleep and admire their skin. Alcohol dehydrates you and lack of sleep can cause stress, which is nearly impossible to hide.Read More
One of my biggest pet peeves is being hungry and not having anything around to curb my appetite. If I’m running around and doing errands or going from work to the gym, it’s nice to have something light to get you through a few more hours. I am such a big foodie so I like to make sure I have a protein bar in my purse or gym bag, just in case.Read More
When I was a little girl, I remember watching my grandpa sitting at the corner of the kitchen table either asleep (snoring) or wearing his reading glasses with a herbal medical book at hand. He has always so been so fascinated in finding natural ways to help cure something like a headache or an upset stomach, which by the way was typically me with an issue!Read More
One of my favorite hobbies is trying out new makeup products, especially when they’ve recently launched in stores or online. Testing them out by playing with the product to see how it feels on the skin and the consistency, excites me.Read More
As the weather slowly cools down and the leaves begin to fall and change color, our closets are typically the first to see the immediate shift. We dust off the jackets, turtleneck sweaters and scarfs. But one of the items I feel that is most overlooked during this seasonal shift is the perfect lip color.Read More
As much as I love high end skincare, I love trying affordable skincare as well. With so many advances in technology nowadays you can never underestimate something you haven’t tried, right? I mean how else will you know if it works for you, unless you give it a whirl.Read More
When it comes to affordable active wear there’s only one brand I always find myself gravitating towards and it’s Fabletics! It’s not just for what they stand for, “Women Empowerment,” but because they offer such a wide range of designs for the everyday girl/woman. Who is that woman you may ask?Read More
California weather can be so unpredictable. So many people talk about how California has great weather and I honestly wonder to myself, how? Don’t get me wrong, I love it here and Cali’s weird quirks, but the one thing I wish it had was a very cold winter where we could wear jackets and fur coats.Read More
For me, coffee is a must every morning. I hate to admit this but I am not a morning person. Waking up for me is a process and is the hardest part of my day. That being said, I definitely need a boost to wake me up.Read More
There are so many different types of prints you could wear, stripes, leopard, floral, polka dots, to name a few. For some, clothing with print could be intimidating. But let me tell you, I never thought of myself as a polka dot wearing type of girl, so the idea of trying it out scared me, but I am glad that I did.Read More
One of my favorite accessories of all time is a watch. This probably sounds old fashioned but what can I say, I’m an old soul. My earliest memory growing up was seeing my mom patiently doing her makeup every morning and putting on her watch before we left the house.Read More
