Just as much as I love being dressed up, I love the idea of walking through an empty field filled with poppies and hearing the rumbling noise of animals in the background. It might seem corny but one of my favorite movies is The Wizard of Oz.Read More
Have you ever looked in your closet and thought to yourself grrrr, how do I pair this garment without looking like a fluffy marshmallow? Or the worst, you get ready, leave the house and somehow end up taking photos, but then realize you look like your drowning in a sea because you didn’t think to unlayer. In some cases layering is extremely essential to layer your life away but for others it’s no fun! Living in the sunshine state of California, we’re known for the great weather but to be honest I beg to differ. It sometimes feels more unpredictable than predictable.
Here are a few tips on how to layer.
My first tip is to start with your basics, leggings, and a cotton long sleeve or thermal are great starters. They’re essentially lightweight and allow you to layer on without adding too much bulk all at once.
Secondly, insulating your feet. Pairing your outfit with over the knee socks will not only keep you warm but add a bit of character. Even if you’re not intending to expose your socks, they’ll definitely keep you warm.
Third, layering another bottom over your outfit like a pair of shorts or even a skirt to add texture.
Fourth, a comfy knit sweater is always essential. It is always a good idea to keep a few knit’s in your closet for emergencies. They're great to layer over your basic tee.
Fifth, picking a cute pair of boots and even adding a great coat or blazer to tie it all together! If necessary add a cute scarf, to add some pizazz around your neck.
As you can see I created my own sporty look to fit the climate in California. I decided to layer my everyday hoodie from H&M with my nifty blazer from Zara. Along with my high rise mom jeans from Topshop and classic black heels from Zara. Lastly, pairing it all with my favorite handbag from Rebecca Minkoff.

It can be so tricky to find a dress for an event. Especially around the holidays. For most of us, Christmas shopping and the idea of buying a dress on top of everything can become tricky when you’re on a budget. I’ve noticed that buying a dress can go two ways, it can be expensive or too generic.Read More
My biggest pet peeve has always been finding a cute pair of sunglasses online or in store, trying them on but then to only find out that my long lashes are scraping at the lens at every blink. Sounds weird? Well it totally is and has always been my issue. It drives me crazy.Read More

If you haven’t noticed small handbags are kinda, sorta, my thing. First of all let me explain, they’re tiny and really cute. But mainly it’s because they also help me look taller in photos than most medium to large handbags (quite the illusion). Sounds crazy, I know, but I feel like large handbags drown me in photos.Read More

When it comes to affordable active wear there’s only one brand I always find myself gravitating towards and it’s Fabletics! It’s not just for what they stand for, “Women Empowerment,” but because they offer such a wide range of designs for the everyday girl/woman. Who is that woman you may ask?Read More
California weather can be so unpredictable. So many people talk about how California has great weather and I honestly wonder to myself, how? There are so many different types of prints you could wear, stripes, leopard, floral, polka dots, to name a few. For some, clothing with print could be intimidating. But let me tell you, I never thought of myself as a polka dot wearing type of girl, so the idea of trying it out scared me, but I am glad that I did.Read More
One of my favorite accessories of all time is a watch. This probably sounds old fashioned but what can I say, I’m an old soul. My earliest memory growing up was seeing my mom patiently doing her makeup every morning and putting on her watch before we left the house.Read More
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a big fan of wearing hats. I’m sure a lot of you can agree that hat hair isn’t cute. You typically have to commit to the idea or pass completely, but there is something in the air lately that has had me reconsidering.Read More
