It can be so tricky to find a dress for an event. Especially around the holidays. For most of us, Christmas shopping and the idea of buying a dress on top of everything can become tricky when you’re on a budget. I’ve noticed that buying a dress can go two ways, it can be expensive or too generic. And I think we can all agree that it’s not ideal. So if there’s anything I hope for you to take away from this post is to always have a little black dress hanging in your closet. Why you may ask? Well, in times of desperation, your little black dress will save you, over and over. I promise!
My black dress has always been my go to, I typically look for something that will be tight fitting to flatter my curves and avoid the idea of needing a tailor but of course still have a unique flair. I mean for most, including myself, the fear of walking into an event and finding someone else wearing the same dress can be a nightmare. But knock on wood, I can say that this has YET happened to me.
For me, I always look for something that will stand the test of time by being able to easily revamp the look with a bold clutch or heels. I styled my cheeky one shoulder black dress with a dark brown faux fur coat, elegantly beaded bucket bag and black strappy heels with embellished chandelier earrings. As you can see you don’t need a lot to be the showstopper you really are.
